- DirectAccess: Provide the ability to access corporate data, such as email, documents,etc without the need to connect to corporate network via VPN
- BranchCache: Reduce application response time and WAN network utilization
- Libraries: Helps find your files faster and give you a single view of content across multiple sources
- Federated Search: Give users a consistent search experience across Sharepoint, Internet and PC
- BitLocker: This is not new but has been improved, now with BitLocker To Go
- PowerShell 2.0: If you miss the command prompt, here is one but with steroids. With PowerShell you increase the IT productivity by enabling automation either applying management tasks across the network to 1 PC or many PCs at the same time
- XP Mode: Do you have legacy apps developed in Windows XP? No problem, you can run it in Windows 7
